Welcome to Quilts In The District's official Web Site! We have moved our store-front to Mount Olive, Alabama. Our shop is located about 10 miles north of Birmingham. Take I65 to exit 272 (Mount Olive Road). Turn to the west and go about 1 mile. Our store is on the left, right across the street from Beechwood Baptist Church. Call (205)608-4330!

We are a husband and wife team - Becky and Dewey Hanks. We have both been police officers, and then I (Becky) was an accountant. After we retired we wanted to open a FUN quiltshop. So here we are - mission accomplished!

Quilts In The District carries 1,300+ bolts of high-quality, 100-percent cotton fabric , and we have all colors of the rainbow on hand ! We carry the complete Jinny Beyer "Color Palette" of brilliant colors, Civil War-era reproductions, 1930s and 1940s reproductions, Landscape-print fabrics (such as brick, wood siding, grass, sky for "starry night", sky for "sunny day", water, pebbles, leaves... even "curly hair", Floral and fruit-print fabrics, Juvenile-print fabrics (both realistic and whimsical styled), Large "black and white" fabric selection, Creative Grid rulers, Mettler and Gütermann hand-quilting and machine threads
