Katie Pasquini Masopust has visited us two years in a row! Look at the FUN we had!

Here are two styles Custom T-shirt quilts from 2008! One is a "grid" style, and the other is a decopage style.

****************
Below you see a photo memory quilt on the left and a quilt made from men's ties on the right.

Look at the great memory quilt and two throw-size t-shirt quilts (below) we made for the 2007 Christmas season!

-------------------------
These quilts shown below both had about 24 Tshirts and applique names in the center. They turned out to be rather large quilts! :-)
Notice the pictures in the border! Nice!

-------------------------
The t-shirt quilts shown below are some more great Christmas 2007 throw size quilts we made!
The middle quilt is an example of how I use machine applique to display memorabilia like badges, scarves and other articles of clothing. Drew's quilt has memory photos in a block as well as his boy scout scarf and badges appliqued in another block

-------------------------
We made these memory quilts out of clothing!

-------------------------
After college, these quilts are a great way to save T Shirts. You get more shirts of varying sizes using the random placement like the quilt below on the left.
You can also have a quilt made in a "grid" placement like the one below in the middle. 15" blocks with 3" "sashing strips" separating the blocks makes a great quilt. Notice the corners in the outside borders. We put the neckline design in the 90 degree turn at the corners.

And we even made a photo memory quilt. See the pink background with the pictures framed and appliqued on the quilt below on the right.

-------------------------

We make custom quilts at Quilts In The District. Above, you have seen some examples of the most popular quilts we made during the Christmas season. I make these quilts with quality fabrics to ensure the quilts will maintain their shape and vibrant colors for generations. These custom quilts are machine quilted by Kathy at Heart to Heart or Kristi Millwood with Needles and Pins of Gardendale, Alabama.

Our designs turn out to be very unique with original creative designs. For example, we will scan and place photographs in the quilt's blocks or borders. Another way to make your quilt like no other is to applique cloth memorabilia or even clothing in the blocks. Don't discard any clothing - it may go great in a quilt!

--------------------
Here are the "Strip Crazy" quilts at Heart to Heart (H2H, Trussville, AL). Piecing is easy for both quilts using precut 2.5" "jelly roll" strips . Kits are available at Heart to Heart Quilt Shop, Trussville, AL. These quilts are found in the book Strip Clubbing.

Below left is the January quilt "State of Grace". You can sign up for this class: March 21, 2008 at 10 am.

Below right is the February quilt "Basket Case". You can sign up for this class scheduled April 25, 2008 at 10 am.

This Old Fashioned T is one of the classes that I teach at Heart to Heart Quilt Shop in Trussville, Alabama!

-----
Here is a picture of our "Gallery of T's". I guess you could say I got hooked on the pattern! I made most of these even before I became friends with the designer - Mimi Shimp. You can order her book Stolen Moments on the on-line store page in the QNN category -

And we always enjoy it when our friends with Lakeside Quilters visit us!

So you see we always are up to something here at Quilts In The District
